FO converter ST for essernet®, multi mode

The FOC converter is used to convert electrical into optical signals for reliable data communication under critical conditions e.g. where conventional copper cables are not suitable. Mixed operation of fibre optical cable (FOC) and conventional wiring within a common network is possible.

Additional Information

  • Two multi-mode fibres are required per network section.
  • The fibres must be connected directly to each other (not via a multiplexer).
  • Fibre optics type G50 / 125 μm or G62,5 / 125 μm  max. attenuation 10 dB corresponding to a length of approx. 4000 m.
  • Up to 16 FOC connections per essernet® network at a transfer rate of 62.5 kBd.
  • Up to 31 connections per essernet® network at a transfer rate of 500 kBd.
  • The FOC converter is connected to the FACP via CAT5/STP cable or comparable
